Valentine's Day Haiku (俳句)Contest

Haiku is a style of lyric poetry borrowed from the Japanese that typically presents an intense emotion or vivid image of nature, which, traditionally, is designed to lead to a spiritual insight. An example of a classic haiku by Bashō is:
古池や蛙飛込む水の音
Furu ike ya kawazu tobikomu mizu no oto
An old pond—
The sound of a frog jumping
into water

Today we had our Valentine's Day haiku contest. Since everyone did such a beautiful job, I thought I'd post them on our blog. So, take a look!
