I think these new speech tecnologies are very interesting, but in my opinion is going to take a long time until you can use this kind of technolody and probably will be very expensive, so ELTI has a long life!! hahaha (do not worry Leah you will keep your job). Well, Dr.Deibold has been developping very nice technologies. I don't think I could do something better than that, I would keep his ideas
After i listened to this article, i was thinking...wow!! how amazing!!
if this kind of technology is really work, we can communicate with people around the world anywhere anytime. how convenience we will have! And,

But it takes long time to develop this kind of technology untill it succeeds. i dun hv any technical knowledge to make
such a wonderful thing like Dr. Deibold did. I didn't imagine that this technology will happen in the world, but everything can happen.

I don't like it at all. In fact, I am very afraid that we will become a lazy nation after all those lousy technological devices. What happen to the world huh?? Come on do not be lazy just learn those languages before you die hehehehehe. This is only another way to earn money that is my concept. In other words, why would I have to learn English while I can buy one of those translators. I really hate the idea of having a technological translator. On the other hand, it will be very expensive as Fabi has mentioned and not right all the time just like everybody’s dictionary. As for the last part of this question, I would not create any type of translator. In fact "no way" even in my dreams hehehe! I think its cool for fun but for business we should learn the language effectively to give us more knowledge because those devices would only translate not get you to know the culture or the world around you!! That’s my philosophy!

I am amazed about this new technology. I think is fascinating;however, it would make people dependent on this kind of tool, so nobody would be interested in learning foreing languages.
If everybody were able to use this technology interpreters would not be required any longer, poor people ahhhhh!!!!!
I agree with Abdul everybody will be lazy about learning languages, but let me tell you my friend, I feel this world is going into that direction we are going to continue inventing new technologies in order to make people's life easier.
On the other hand, if I could create my own speech technology I would make it to read and translate my thoughts, awsome ahhh!!! I would make a lot of money . Or better I would make it to translate a chating conversation through a computer so I will be able to talk to anybody around the world.

When I listened to (watched) this video, I thought exactly same as Abdul thought. I do not like this kind of technologies.they make human being lazy and stupid. In addition, we learn many things by studying language. Because struggle and pleasure accompany learning new languages. I believe so. Therefore I will not use those technologies even if it become true. Anyway, have a great weekend everybody!!

This technology is realy helpful and it also could be devoloped more. Mybe in the feature we'll be able to speak and listen to the animals. any way, I have this feeling that peolpe are geting more and more lazy. And I am afried that someday we won't have to learn anymore. We will be born knowing all what we think we need to know. And will not have this curiosity to learn. Until that day comes Asalam Alikum.
I dont think that this technology is going to be that helpful because first, it will cost alot of money . second, most of people all around the world are already learning or speaking English and at last but not least everybody will be lazy and no one wants to learn anything
I believe that new speech technology will come true before long. at that time, we don't need to learn another language. Actually, some technoloy aready has been materialized. Paper Translator, which can translate with 98% correctness, between Korean and Japanese is already using by free service.(Of course, Korean and japanese have a similar grammar). Nowadays, people who want to learn another language have to spend a lot of time to study. when this technology can be realized, it will be very helpful to us. I really want to use this speech translation service.
I felt so embarassed...becasue I have spnet a lot of time to learn English since I went to school..haha!!! But if it is possible, it will be great even if it is just our dream..because when I traveled abroad, I thought it could be better if I communicate with other people who speaks foreign language. On the other hand, I'm wondering that the type of machine can exactly translate our native languages to another. Because I think language is not only a tool of communcation but also CULTURE.
If there is this speech technology, we may not need to study any foreign languages. I really don't like this technology because I feel I am wasting my time to study English. Learning foreigh languages is learning foreigh cultures. If a person can understand a foreign language perfectly to use the technology, to me there won't be a real conversation and the person xchange its emotion to other people honestly.
This technology is great! However, if we can speak foreign language without studying it what am I gonna do in the future? I'm a French teacher!
I think with this kind of technology it would be very easy to communicate....Our translator will automaticly tell me what somedy has said, but on the other hand I don't have to think and look for a word ...we will stop thinking! Learning a foreign language is fun!
